1. Who we are

Cruz Co Services Inc. (“Cruz Co”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a Georgia corporation that provides same-day courier and delivery services across Metro Atlanta. Our office is located at 5960 Crooked Creek Road, Suite 140 A, Peachtree Corners, GA 30097.

This Privacy Policy applies to cruzcoservices.com, the Cruz Co Services app for customers, the Cruz Co Driver app for our drivers (we call them Cruzers), and any other place that links to this policy. Together we call these our “Services”.

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use our Services.

If you send or receive deliveries

  • Contact and account details such as your name, email address, phone number and password.
  • Delivery details such as pickup and drop-off addresses, recipient names and phone numbers, item descriptions, photos of items, declared values and special instructions.
  • Payment details. Card and payment information is entered into and processed by Stripe. We receive limited details such as the card type, last four digits and billing ZIP code, and we do not store full card numbers.
  • Messages you send us through our forms, email, phone, text or in-app chat.

If you drive with us as a Cruzer

  • Identity and contact details, driver’s license, vehicle and insurance information.
  • Information needed for background screening, including your Social Security Number, which is collected and processed by our third-party background check provider.
  • Identity verification information, which may include a selfie or scan of your driver’s license. See the Driver Screening section below.
  • Payout and tax information needed to pay you.
  • Ratings, delivery history and earnings.

Information collected automatically

  • Location. See the Location Information section below.
  • Device and usage information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit.
  • Cookies and similar technologies on our website. See the Cookies section below.

Information from others

We may receive information from people who book deliveries for you (for example, your name and address as a recipient), from businesses that use our Services, and from our background check provider.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage accounts, book deliveries and match each delivery with a Cruzer.
  • Route, track and complete deliveries, and provide proof of delivery such as photos, signatures and timestamps.
  • Process payments, payouts, refunds and claims under our Protection Plan.
  • Send service messages such as booking confirmations, delivery updates, receipts and account notices.
  • Screen and verify Cruzers, and help keep customers, Cruzers and the public safe.
  • Prevent, detect and investigate fraud, misuse and violations of our Terms of Use.
  • Respond to your questions and provide customer support.
  • Understand how our Services are used so we can improve them.
  • Send marketing messages where you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
  • Comply with the law and enforce our agreements.

4. Location information

Customers. We use the addresses you enter and, if you allow it, your device location to set pickup and drop-off points and show nearby service availability.

Cruzers. The Cruz Co Driver app collects precise location while you are online and while a delivery is in progress. We use it to offer nearby deliveries, show customers live tracking and estimated arrival times, confirm pickups and drop-offs, and investigate issues.

You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time. Some features, such as live tracking and receiving delivery offers, will not work without it.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as described below.

  • Between customers and Cruzers. To complete a delivery, your Cruzer sees the information needed for the job, such as names, addresses, delivery instructions and a contact method. Customers see their Cruzer’s first name, photo, vehicle details and live location during the delivery.
  • Service providers who work on our behalf, including payment processing (Stripe), background screening, identity verification, cloud hosting, mapping, SMS and email delivery, analytics and customer support tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Business customers. If a business books a delivery for you, it receives delivery status and proof of delivery.
  • Legal and safety reasons. We may share information to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights, property or safety of Cruz Co, our users or the public, or to investigate fraud.
  • Business transfers. If Cruz Co is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

6. Driver screening and identity verification

All Cruzers must pass a background check before they can accept deliveries. The check is performed by a third-party consumer reporting agency and includes a criminal background check and a motor vehicle record review. It does not include a credit check. We request your written consent before any check, and you have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including the right to receive a copy of your report and to dispute inaccurate information.

To help prevent fraud and confirm that the person driving matches the account, we or our verification provider may ask Cruzers for a selfie or a scan of a government-issued ID and compare them. We use this information only for identity verification, safety and fraud prevention. We do not sell it, and we delete it when it is no longer needed for those purposes or as required by law.

7. Pharmacy and medical deliveries

Some deliveries contain prescriptions, medical supplies or medical documents. Cruzers may see limited information such as the recipient’s name and address. Cruzers are required to keep this information confidential, use it only to complete the delivery, and follow our handling rules for pharmacy deliveries. When we provide services to healthcare organizations, we handle protected health information as required by our agreements with them and by applicable law.

8. Text messages

When you create an account or book a delivery, we may send you text messages about your account and deliveries, such as confirmations and status updates. If you agree to receive marketing texts, we may also send offers and news. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. If you opt out of service texts, you may miss important delivery updates. We do not share your mobile number with third parties for their own marketing.

9. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and understand how visitors use it. We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics, which collect information like pages visited and time on site. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com and opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block them, parts of the website may not work as intended.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes and claims, prevent fraud, meet tax and accounting rules, and comply with legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it. Delivery and payment records are generally kept for the period required by tax and financial regulations.

11. How we protect information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and trusted providers for payments and screening. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.

Please keep your password private and contact us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

12. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Access and update most account information in the app or on the website.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (for example in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states) may give you additional rights, such as the right to know what we collect, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and to appeal our decision on your request. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Our Services may link to websites and apps we do not operate, such as app stores, maps and social media. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to read them.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will let you know through the app, by email or with a notice on our website.
